Easy Tiger
Film & Television Production Company
Easy Tiger Productions is the boutique Sydney production company I spent my internship with, the team behind Colin from Accounts, Territory and Scrublands. Here’s who they are, and what a few weeks inside their office actually looked like.
Who Are They?
Over my placement at Easy Tiger Productions I sat in on slate meetings, read and reported on submissions, and watched a show move from a pitch deck to a shooting script. This case study is my attempt to capture everything a boutique production company actually does before a camera ever rolls: how a story gets found, financed, pitched, produced, distributed and finally put in front of an audience, using their own slate as the example throughout.
Case Study
During my time at Easy Tiger, I got to read and report on the unpublished manuscript Drawing Nudes While Making Other Plans: a warm and funny young adult romance about 17-year-old Cleo Markson, who navigates grief, first love and self-discovery during a summer life-drawing program at the Australian Art School.
My report explored the story’s logline, synopsis, structure, characters, themes, dialogue, character journeys and potential for adaptation and a second season.
Off the back of this report, the team let me design and build a pitch deck exploring the world of the story and its main characters, which I then got to present at a slate meeting in front of the whole team, including the founder and CEO.
